Free food arrangement for migrants by the Government of Bihar in
Delhi;
Meal is provided to more than 20 thousand people everyday
Government
of Bihar is committed to assist stranded migrant workers
New Delhi,
Monday, April 20th, 2020: As per the directions of the
Hon'ble Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar, all possible assistance is
being provided to the migrants of the state of Bihar who are stranded in any
part of India due to the Corona lockdown. The Disaster Management Department,
Government of Bihar is providing free food daily to the migrant workers of
Bihar in Delhi.
Under
the aegis of Bihar Foundation, food
is being arranged by the Bihar Government at twelve centers at Badarpur, Sonia
Vihar, Palam Colony, Aya Nagar, Kirari, Govindpuri, Shakarpur and Burari
everyday.
The arrangements for lunch are being
done from 12 noon to 2 PM and dinner arrangements from 7 PM to 9 PM.
According to the informations received, 10,224 (Ten thousand two hundred and twenty
four) people have benefitted from the arrangements of today’s lunch whereas
22,334 (Twenty two thousand three
hundred and thirty four) people benefitted by the overall arrangement of lunch
and dinner on 19.04.2020. Till 19th April, 2020, 3,20,640 (Three lac twenty thousand six
hundred and forty) food packets have been distributed since the inception
of food centers in Delhi by Bihar Foundation.
The guidelines of social-distancing and cleanliness are
being strictly followed at relief distribution centers.
