The Centenary Building of the glorious Patna High Court is inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sharad Arbind Bobde

Today, on this momentous day i.e. in the forenoon of 27th February, 2021 the Centenary Building of the glorious Patna High Court is inaugurated by Hon’bleMr. Justice SharadArbindBobde, Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India in the august presence of Hon’ble Sri Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, Hon’bleMr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Law Minister, Hon’bleMr. Justice NavinSinha, Hon’bleMs. Justice Indira Banerjee, Hon’bleMr. Justice Hemant Gupta, Hon’ble Judges of Supreme Court of India, Hon’bleMr. Justice Sanjay Karol, Hon’ble the Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Hon’ble Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan, Hon’ble the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, Hon’bleMr.Pramod Kumar, Minister of Law, Govt. of Bihar, Hon’bleMr. Ashok Chaudhary, Minister of Building Construction Department. Govt. of Bihar, Former Chief Justices of Patna High Court Hon’bleMr. Justice L.N. Reddy and Hon’bleMr. Justice I.A. Ansari, Former Hon’ble Judges of Patna High Court, retired from Supreme Court of India, Hon’bleMr. Justice B.N. Agrawal, Hon’bleMr. Justice B.P. Singh, Hon’bleMr. Justice S.J. Mukhopadhaya, Hon’ble. Justice Smt. GyanSudha Mishra, Hon’ble Justice Dr.Mukundakam Sharma, Hon’bleMr.Justice ShivaKirti Singh, Former Hon’ble Judges of Patna High Court retired as Hon’ble Chief Justices of other High Courts Mr. Justice S.N.Jha Former Chief Justices of Rajasthan High Court, Hon’bleMr. Justice Navaniti Prasad Singh, Former Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, Hon’ble Sitting Judges of Patna High Court and Hon’ble retired Judges of Patna High Court. Apart from the above, Advocate General, Bihar, Additional Solicitor General of India, Bihar, Senior Officers of State Govt. and State Judiciary have also participated in the ceremony.

The foundation stone of this Centenary Building was laid by Hon’ble Sri Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, in the presence of Hon’bleMs. Justice RekhaManharlalDoshit, the then Hon’ble Chief Justice, Patna High Court, on the fourth day of February, 2014. But it is the continuous and tireless efforts of Hon’ble the Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Hon’bleMr. Justice Sanjay Karol that have made this Centenary Building completed and has been inaugurated today inspite of many obstacles including the ongoing pandemic.

This Centenary Building of Patna High Court has been constructed keeping the external facades in consonance with old High Court Building with modern features like earthquake resistance, post tension beam and slab, fire detection, alarm and resistance, central air conditioning (HVAC), data networking, optical fibre cabling, CCTV, Solar power, WTP, STP, rain water harvesting and landscaping. The UPVC, windows with DUG glass to control internal temperature and noise. Internal palnning of building is such that Hon’ble chamber and connected court rooms are placed side by side and circulation of lawyers and litigants in the building is completely segregated.

The new building has 43 court rooms, 57 chambers for Hon’ble Judges, 1 library and 1 lounge each for Hon’ble Judges and for advocates separately, 1 lounge exclusively for lady advocates, 6 committee rooms, 1 conference room for 90 persons fully equipped with State-of-the-art AV system and 1 underground parking for 129 cars.
